Budget hearing of the DTI

Senator Sonny Angara, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, expressed the Senate panels’ willingness to support the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) programs aimed at providing shared service facilities (SSF) to MSMEs, helping our current industries move up the value chain, and planting the seeds so that our creative sectors grow and prosper.

This aligns with Senator Angara’s “Tatak Pinoy” (made in the Philippines)” Initiative—his centerpiece advocacy this 18th Congress. This initiative aims to generate more high-paying jobs in the country with the end-view of reversing the long-standing problem of “brain drain” so that our best and brightest lead productive lives here at home.

The committee has endorsed the DTI’s budget for submission in plenary.
